Chase Carlisle

Memphis City Councilman

 District 9 Position 1

Since being elected in 2019, Councilman Chase Carlisle has served as the Memphis City Councilman for District 9 Position 1. 

 

Councilman Carlisle currently serves as:

​

  • Chairman of the Budget Committee

  • Vice-Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism & Technology A

  • Appointed to serve on the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (TACIR) Board

 

Councilman Carlisle has helped our community and government for years through previous positions as:

  • Chair of the Personnel & Government Affairs Committee

  • Chair of the Public Services, Art, Youth Initiatives, Libraries & Neighborhoods Committee 

  • Vice-Chair of Memphis, Light, Gas & Water Committee

  • On the boards of the Memphis Rock ‘n Soul Museum, the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, and the Memphis River Parks Partnership

  • The City Council’s liaison to the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, the Memphis & Shelby County Airport Authority, and Memphis Shelby County Schools.

He is also the Senior Advisor of Strategic Initiatives and Brand Strategy for Carlisle Corporation, the Memphis-based restaurant and hospitality business rooted in real estate development since 1974. The company strives to strengthen our community through development by bringing people together, improving metropolitan areas and giving back. Chase considers one of his most significant professional accomplishments to be leading the revitalization and redevelopment of the historic Hotel Chisca in downtown Memphis.

 

Prior to his current role, Chase helped lead the then-startup of the commercial brokerage and real estate services firm Avison Young as Senior Vice President. 

 

Chase is a proud graduate of the Memphis University School and the University of Memphis, where he earned a BBA in Finance. He and his wife Elizabeth, along with their three children, Miles, Tully, and Hall, are avid supporters of all things Memphis.
